ERASMUS+ TRAINING ON MENTORING AND COACHING FOR TEACHERS
Participating in the Erasmus+ Training on Mentoring and Coaching for Teachers in Budapest was an enriching experience for me, and I feel very privileged to have been part of it. Many teachers of all ages attended the course from all around Europe, sharing their years of experience and knowledge. As one of the youngest teachers in the course, I learned various new ideas from other teachers on how to deal with problems while teaching. Additionally, I learned a lot about what teaching in different countries in Europe looks like, the kinds of problems teachers face, and how they tackle these problems. Moreover, we covered various interesting and practical topics such as asking good questions, managing change, active listening skills, self-awareness, self-assessment, and summative and formative feedback. I found these topics to be very relevant and practical for our future teaching experiences.
I believe that the whole course was truly inspiring. Before the course, I thought I knew a lot about how to ask questions and how to listen to my students and colleagues as a teacher who frequently asks questions. However, it turned out that my questions could be improved, and I could make my students think more deeply by asking better questions and by listening to them actively.
Additionally, it was a great opportunity to immerse myself in Hungarian culture because we also had some fun activities, such as a Hungarian language class and a Hungarian folk-dance class. I really had a lot of fun! We also had plenty of time to travel around beautiful Budapest, discovering its authentic cuisine and culture. All in all, it was a wholesome experience filled with inspiring new ideas and practical knowledge. I am so happy that I participated in this great project. I also want to thank my coordinators at our school for preparing us for our trip to Budapest. They were always supportive and understanding, which made our stay in Budapest much more comfortable and easier!
